Children removed from Standoff home as fentanyl, other drugs seized

STANDOFF, AB — Blood Tribe Police say more than $4,300 worth of fentanyl was seized from a Standoff home where children were present.

A search warrant was executed during the early morning hours of Friday, Feb. 2. Police said they found 97 fentanyl tablets, cash proceeds of crime totalling $4,079.88, one gram of cocaine with a street value of $100, a dozen Tylenol 3 tablets containing codeine, bear spray, and four cell phones.

Blood Tribe Child Protection Services removed children from the home. To protect their identities, the names of the suspects are being withheld.

A 35-year-old man is charged with possession of fentanyl, four counts of drug child endangerment, and outstanding warrants.

A 24-year-old woman was arrested for outstanding warrants and is charged with four counts of drug child endangerment.

A 20-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man are both charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl and codeine, as well as possession of cocaine, possession of a dangerous weapon, and the proceeds of crime, along with four counts each of drug child endangerment.

The search warrant was carried out by the Crime Reduction Unit and Community Policing Division of Blood Tribe Police. The service thanked members of the public who have stood up to drug and criminal activity and helped with intelligence gathering.
