Will Garin commits to Bentley University
BROOKS, AB – The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are elated to announce that 1997-born forward Will Garin (Mound, MN) has committed to attend and play for Bentley University, beginning in the 2018-19 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) hockey season.
Located in Waltham, Massachusetts, the Falcons play in the NCAA Division I Atlantic Hockey conference, under 16th-year head coach Ryan Soderquist, a two-time Atlantic Hockey Coach of the Year.
“Will joined us early this season and made an immediate impact on our lineup,” said Bandits head coach and general manager Ryan Papaioannou. “He solidified our play making ability up front along with adding a much-needed presence to our power play. He is a great skater and handles the puck extremely well.”
Garin, 20, joined the Bandits in late October, and has since become the team’s fourth-highest scorer on a point-per-game basis, with 24 points (11 goals, 13 assists) in 25 games played. His 11 goals rank 7th on the team. His brief Bandit career has featured six multi-point games, with a hat trick on December 9th at home against Olds.
