Police searching for two suspects following home invasion

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Medicine Hat police are searching for two suspects after a home invasion in the Crestwood neighbourhood Wednesday night.

According to police, at approximately 8 p.m., two men attempted to force their way into a home in the neighbourhood. When the home owner resisted, one of the men produced a weapon and assaulted the homeowner.

After a brief struggle, both suspects fled the area. The homeowner was not seriously injured.

The investigation is ongoing, but police believe the residence was specifically targeted, and there is no general public safety risk.

One of the suspects is described as an Indigenous male, approximately 26-27 years old. The man is believed to be between 5’10” and 6 feet tall, and weighting 200 lbs. He had pock marks on his face, and was wearing a black hoodie and a black toque.

The second suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 26-27 years old. He is believed to be 6’ tall, weighing between 165-170 lbs, with a thin build. He was wearing a dark coloured hoodie and baggy pants.
