In wake of recent tragedies, Violet Grove technician providing free vehicle exhaust inspections
VIOLET GROVE, AB – Recent tragedies across Alberta involving possible carbon monoxide poisonings in idling vehicles has prompted a local technician to provide free exhaust inspections for youth.
Violet Grove resident Jake Ranger says following the deaths of two Drayton Valley teens in an idling vehicle in December and this week’s possible triple carbon monoxide poisoning near Conklin, he felt like opening his shop to give the inspections was the right thing to do.
“I was young once too, I get it. It doesn’t hurt to give up a little free time to check the vehicles out. If you can prevent one death, well that’s something,” said Ranger.
As a father himself the recent events have hit home for him, calling them hard and terrible adding that if his own work can help another family from going through a similar experience it’s worth it.
