MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Tigers are receiving a big offensive boost for their contest against the Edmonton Oil Kings Friday night at the Canalta Centre.

Rookie Josh Williams, drafted by the Tigers 5th overall in 2016, will play his first game since late October after breaking his collarbone at the World U17 Hockey Challenge.

The Langley, B.C. native was enjoying a breakout rookie campaign, scoring four goals and five points in 14 games prior to the injury.

Williams addition comes at a much-needed time for an injury-ridden Tigers lineup. Forwards Mason Shaw and Hayden Ostir remain sidelined with lower and upper body injuries respectively. Earlier this week, defenceman Linus Nassen sustained a broken radial bone in his arm. Ryan Jevne is currently serving a three-game suspension for dealing a high hit on Monday in Cranbrook.
