One dead following collision near Strathmore

WHEATLAND COUNTY, AB — One man is dead and a woman is in hospital following a two-vehicle collision Tuesday night neat Strathmore.
Strathmore RCMP were called to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of highway 840 and Highway 564 at approximately 6 p.m. The collision involved a car and a semi tractor trailer.
Preliminary investigation from police suggests the car was travelling west on highway 564 when it failed to stop at the stop sign and his the trailer of the semi travelling through the intersection.
The man driving the car was pronounced deceased on scene, while his female passenger was transported by air ambulance to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
