BROOKS, AB – The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) have acquired the CJHL rights to 1999-born forward Mack Hancock (Kingston, ON) from the Brockville Braves of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL), the team announced today.

In exchange, the Bandits send 1997-born forward Tyler Carangelo (Hamden, CT) to the Braves.

Hancock, 18, scored 16 points (3 goals, 13 assists) in 57 games with Brockville last season, adding 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) in 5 playoff games.

The 6’2”, 185lb forward previously served as captain for the Greater Kingston Jr. Frontenacs of the Eastern Triple A Minor Midget Hockey League (ETAMMHL) where he scored 33 points (11 goals, 22 assists) in 34 games in the 2014-15 season.

Carangelo, 20, scored 31 points (10 goals, 21 assists) in 68 games over two seasons with the Bandits, after being recruited from Avon Old Farms School in Connecticut.

The trade allows the Bandits to remain within the AJHL-mandated limit of 6 1997-born players on the roster, with the addition of defenceman Shane Bear (Calgary, AB).

The Bandits return to action this afternoon for a special New Year’s Day game at the CRA, hosting the Canmore Eagles at 4:00 PM. Tickets are available online at tickets.brooksbandits.ca.
