MEDICINE HAT, AB – Plenty of curling on tap at the Medicine Hat Curling Club to wrap up the holidays, with the Yuletide Bonspiel winding up on Friday night.

Twenty teams took part in the family-friendly tournament, stretching over five divisions.

The Rumberg’s Reindeers took home the Elf Division championship with a perfect 3-0 record, while the Lutz family finished with a silver medal.

Brian Moat and The Mistletoes won all three of their games en-route to a Frosty Division title, with the Troy Risling team winning the Scrooge Division.

An undefeated showing for the Michelle Titus rink equalled a Rudolph Division crown, while the Santa’s Division title went to the junior rink of Sam Nygaard.

Tournament action gets underway for a pair of Medicine Hat rinks shortly, as the Trevor Funk and John Stroh rinks are headed to Airdrie on January 5 for the Men’s Southern Playdowns.

That will lead into the 2018 Alberta Scotties Tournament of Hearts, which will see the 12 best women’s teams in the province compete for a spot at the National Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

The Medicine Hat Curling Club will play host to the Alberta Scotties between January 10 and 14.
