Extreme cold warning still in effect for Medicine Hat

MEDICINE HAT, AB. – The cold temperatures are going to stick around through the next few days in Medicine Hat, AB.

The snow is expected to end this afternoon, with a mainly cloudy sky and a 30 percent chance of flurries (2 to 4 cm expected to fall). It will be a cold afternoon, dress warmly if you are headed outdoors. There is a predicted high of minus 24, and an extreme wind chill of minus 40.

Heading into the overnight hours, it will be mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of flurries in the early evening. A low of minus 31 is predicted, but the added 15km/h wind will create an extreme wind chill of minus 40.

New Years Eve on Sunday is predicted to have a sunny clear sky but it is not expected to warm up. Take caution if you are part taking in any outdoor activities. A high of minus 26 is predicted but with the wind, temperatures are expected to drop down to minus 40.
