Medicine Hat man facing assault charge in Taber

TABER, AB — A Medicine Hat man is facing several charges after a woman was found assaulted last weekend in Taber.

According to a news release from the Taber Police Service, officers were called to a complaint of a serious assault with weapons in the 5500 block of 38th Avenue around 9 p.m. on Dec. 23. The woman was found with severe facial injuries and taken to Taber Hospital for treatment.

Police located the suspect in a nearby apartment and took him into custody.

Scott Shannon Wallace, 45, has been charged with aggravated assault, unlawful confinement, two counts of uttering threats, and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public. The news release says a knife was the weapon allegedly in Wallace’s possession.
