Extreme cold warning in effect

Dec 27, 2017 | 5:03 AM

MEDICINE  HAT, AB. – An extreme cold warning is in effect for Medicine Hat and much of the southern part of Alberta, Saskatchewan and east into Manitoba and Ontario.

With the wind chill, it’s expected to feel like minus 40 today.

Extreme cold puts everyone at risk – and people need to watch for symptoms, including shortness of breath, chest and muscle pain, and weakness.

Environment Canada says if it’s too cold for you to stay outside, it’s also too cold for your pet to stay outside.

The cold temperatures are expected to continue through the week, but should moderate by New Year’s Day.
