Cubs close in on Strathmore with 6-4 win to end 2017

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Travelodge Cubs are heading into the holiday break on winning terms.

In a showdown of two teams battling for the final playoff spot, he local Junior B squad exploded for six goals in a 6-4 victory over the Wheatland Kings in Strathmore Saturday night.

Medicine Hat is now one point back of Strathmore for the fifth and final playoff spot in the HJHL’s South Division. They close out pre-Christmas action with a 10-14-1 record, and will return until January 6th in Cochrane.

Mackenzie Fritzler scored twice for the Cubs, while Matt Clement and Tavin Straub put up three point performances in Strathmore.
