MEDICINE HAT, AB – A man arrested in Redcliff on Halloween night after crashing into parked cars has entered a guilty plea in connection with the incident.

Nathan Learmont pleaded guilty to impaired driving in Medicine Hat provincial court on Tuesday.

Learmont, 23, was arrested by Redcliff RCMP on Halloween after the car he was driving crashed into two parked vehicles at the corner of First Avenue and Fourth Street.

Several pedestrians came to check on the vehicle, among them Mark Lowe of Suffield, who was trick-or-treating with his family and dressed as Batman. Lowe said he tried to help the driver and calm him down, but the man ran away, removing his pants in the process.

Lowe and RCMP officers eventually located Learmont in the backyard of a home, and he was taken into custody.

Learmont received a $1,690 fine and a one-year driver’s licence suspension.
