MEDICINE HAT, AB — Rookie Henry Rybinski lit the lamp for the first time in his young career, but Cale Fleury’s three-point performance propelled the Regina Pats to a 4-2 victory over the Medicine Hat Tigers on Saturday night.

Former Tiger Matt Bradley opened up the scoring for the Pats less than a minute into the first period, re-directing a shot 53 seconds into the game.

It took 16-year-old Rybinski 25 games and 14 shots on goal to finally celebrate his first career WHL marker, scoring just under seven minutes into the first. Hayden Ostir scored the other tally for the Tigers, both of which coming in the first period.

Regina’s Emil Oksanen scored his 12th of the season to tie the game at 2-2 in the second, before Robbie Holmes scored the eventual game-winner with 4:13 remaining in regulation.

Jake Leschyshyn added an empty net goal, as the Tigers were doubled up by a 4-2 final.

Pats goaltender Max Paddock was awarded the game’s first star after stopping 32 of 34 shots fired his way. Fleury’s points all came in the form of assists to take second star honours, while Jordan Hollett’s 42 saves awarded him the third star.

Medicine Hat wraps up it’s four-game road trip with a 1-2-1-0 record through the Eastern Division. The Tigers return to action Wednesday night, hosting the Tri-City Americans at the Canalta Centre.
