Man charged in death of Brenda Woloski waives preliminary hearing

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The man charged in connection with the murder of Brenda Woloski last year has waived his preliminary hearing

According to the provincial court office, Noah Harrison Bentley, 27, waived his hearing on Friday and the case will now be heard in the Court of Queen’s Bench.

The next scheduled arraignment date at the Medicine Hat Court of Queen’s Bench is scheduled for January 12, 2018. The arraignment will see the charges formally read in court, a plea entered and trial date set.

Bentley was arrested and charged with second-degree murder after Woloski, 53, was found dead in a home in the 800 block of Third Street SE on November 12.

Details from Bentley’s bail hearing, along with the cause of Woloski’s death, are under a publication ban.

Bentley remains in custody. A plea was not entered on the provincial file.
