Names released in connection with stolen property investigation

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Medicine Hat police have identified the two people arrested and charged in connection with on ongoing investigation into break and enters in the city.

Kevin Sandford, 42, and Alix Illingworth, 37, are both facing multiple charges after police conducted a search warrant on Tuesday at a home in the 1100 block of Steel Street SE.

Officers recovered $110,000 worth of stolen currency and other collectibles..

Sandford is charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, two counts of assaulting a peace officer, possession of methamphetamine and two counts of laundering proceeds of crime.

Illingworth is charged with one count each of possession of stolen property over $5,000 and obstructing a police officer.

Sandford was scheduled to make his first court appearance on Thursday, while Illingworth makes her first court appearance on December 5.
