Medicine Hat ranked 43rd in MacLean’s ranking of most dangerous cities in Canada

MEDICINE HAT, AB — MacLean’s Magazine has released its list of the Most Dangerous Cities in Canada, and Medicine Hat is ranked in the Top 50.

According to the rankings, Medicine Hat sits at 43.

The survey looks at the 229 most dangerous communities in Canada on a per capita basis, and the list is compiled based on statistics from 2016.

In 2016, Medicine Hat police reported four murders, 34 sexual assaults and 404 incidents of break and enter.

Medicine Hat is ranked lower than similar sized cities such as Grand Prairie (12) and the Lethbridge region (26).

North Battleford, Saskatchewan is at the top of the list, followed by Thompson, Manitoba and Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.

Williams Lake B.C. and Red Deer round out the Top 5.
