Medicine Hat, AB –  One of six people charged after the city police’s Organized Crime Unit seized drugs and weapons from a home and vehicle last March has pleaded guilty to a number of charges.

Jesse Dean Imeson entered guilty pleas to charges of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, possession of body armour without a valid permit and possession of a controlled substance during his appearance at Medicine Hat provincial court on Thursday.

Imeson was sentenced to 30 days in jail, given six months of probation and a one year firearm prohibition.  He was also fined $450.

The charges came after police searched a residence in the 1100 block of Dominion Street S.E. and a vehicle associated with the home.  In addition to confiscating a loaded shotgun, ammunition and body armour, police also captured drugs including heroin and fentanyl and proceeds of crime.

A second count of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, along with one court each of unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless use of a firearm, possession of a firearm in a vehicle and possession of a weapon obtained through crime, were all withdrawn.
