Five things about Canada’s Walk of Fame
TORONTO — Six people were inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame Wednesday — sprinter Donovan Bailey, actress Anna Paquin, environmentalist David Suzuki, civil rights leader Viola Desmond, country singer Stompin’ Tom Connors, and businessman Ted Rogers.
Here are five things about the Walk of Fame.
WHEN STARTED: 1998 with 13 inductees including such notable Canadians as Bryan Adams, John Candy, Anne Murray, Bobby Orr and Gordon Lightfoot.
HOW MANY: With this year’s inductees, Canada’s Walk of Fame will have honoured 173 Canadians.
