Police investigating robbery at Moore’s

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Medicine Hat police are investigating after a robbery at a clothing store Tuesday night.

According to a news release posted on the Medicine Hat Police Service’s Facebook page, a robbery occurred at Moore’s Clothing on Strachan Road at approximately 8:30 p.m. Police say a man walked into the store and robbed it, leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say a weapon was not involved in the robbery, or mentioned by the suspect.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 6 feet tall with a larger build. He has a beard described as thick and scruffy and was wearing a dark, puffy winter coat. The man is approximately 45 years old.

Sgt. Stacey Kesler with the Medicine Hat Police Service says they service tends to respond to more robberies at this time of the year.

“It seems to peak during the winter months, usually before Christmas, and then it tapers off,” he said. “It’s not something we’re seeing all of the time, but we’re seeing more of it.”

A photo has not yet been released, and the investigation remains in its early stages.
