Trio of Rattlers teams listed in national rankings

MEDICINE HAT, AB – It’s a great time to be a Medicine Hat College Rattlers fan, as a number of their teams are rolling through the ACAC.

On Tuesday, the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association releasing their latest basketball and volleyball rankings, with a trio of Rattlers teams making the cut.

The biggest riser for the Rattlers was the men’s volleyball team, climbing one spot to sit fourth place in the country.

Medicine Hat hasn’t played since November 5, but have won their last four matches and sit tied for first place in the ACAC with a 7-1 record.

A small dip for the Rattlers women’s basketball team on Tuesday, settling in fifth place nationally after dropping two places.

The Rattlers were handed their first loss of the season on Friday night, losing 70-68 in overtime to the undefeated SAIT Trojans and now play at a 7-1 record.

No movement from the Rattlers men’s basketball team, maintaining 12th place in Canada after dropping an 82-75 game on Friday against SAIT as well.

Medicine Hat is tied with the Trojans with 10 points on the season, but sit in second place in the South Division with a record of 5-2.

The Rattlers basketball and volleyball teams return to the court on Friday, with the volleyball teams hosting Olds College, while the basketball squads head to Olds to face the Broncos themselves.
