MEDICINE HAT, AB – A day to pause and remember for thousands of Medicine Hat residents on Saturday morning.

Remembrance Day services were held on Saturday, beginning with the formal ceremony held at the Esplanade theatre, which drew a packed crowd.

Following the service, military members, first responders, and other dignitaries marched along 1st Street to Riverside Veterans Park.

Once there, wreaths were laid at the cenotaph following the ‘Last Post’ and two minutes of silence to honour Canada’s war dead.

Following the ceremony, many of spectators stuck around to shake a veteran’s hand and to place their poppy alongside the wreaths at the cenotaph.

CHAT News Today was on hand for the service, and put together a small recap of the morning.
