Blue Jays right-hander Marcus Stroman wins first Gold Glove award
Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Marcus Stroman is a Gold Glove winner for the first time in his career.
MLB announced the winners of the award — which recognizes a player at each position’s defensive abilities throughout the season — on Tuesday night.
Stroman beat out Boston left-hander Chris Sale and Tampa Bay’s Alex Cobb in the American League pitcher category.
“This is one of the main awards I always wanted to win,” Stroman said in an interview on ESPN. “I’m ecstatic. This is huge for me.”
