MEDICINE HAT, AB — After a plethora of victories against some of the top teams in the ACAC, three Medicine Hat College Rattlers squads continue to turn heads on a national level.

In women’s basketball, the Rattlers remain 2nd in the Canadian Collegiate Athletics Association rankings after a pair of wins over Olds College and Red Deer College. The ladies sit first place in the ACAC’s south conference standings with an undefeated 6-0 record.

Men’s basketball saw the Rattlers climb three spots in the national rankings to 12th after picking up coinciding victories with the ladies team. The men from MHC also sit first in the south conference with a 5-1 record.

Both basketball clubs have a tough task ahead this weekend, battling the SAIT Trojans, who are both undefeated on the season. The men’s team representing SAIT are ranked 2nd in the country, while the ladies are not ranked in the list of 15.

The biggest jump of any Rattlers sports team comes in men’s volleyball, which saw a massive bump up to 5th place nationally from 13th one week ago. This comes on the heals of a two-game sweep over the reigning national champion Red Deer College Kings, who entered the weekend ranked 1st, but have now fallen to 9th overall.
