Cirque du Soleil coming to Canalta Centre in 2018

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Cirque du Soleil is coming to Medicine Hat next year.

The internationally-renowned entertainment company will be bringing its newest production “Crystal” to the Canalta Centre from May 23-27.

The show is the first-ever on ice production for Cirque du Soleil. According to a news release, “gymnasts and skaters perform acrobatics on the ice and in the air, seamlessly combining multiple disciplines for a world-class audience experience.”

The show features synchronized skating, freestyle figures and extreme skating, alongside traditional circus disciplines, such as swinging trapeze and aerial traps.

As with most Cirque productions, the show is built around a story. The news release says the show is follows the main character, Crystal, on “an exhilarating tale of self-discovery as she dives into a world of her own imagination.”

Tickets go on sale November 8 at 10 a.m. at the Canalta Centre box office or at www.ticketmaster.ca. Price information will be announced at a later date.

The seven performances at the Canalta Centre are scheduled for the following days.

Wednesday, May 23 at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, May 24 at 7:30 p.m.
Friday, May 25 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, May 26 at 4:00 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, May 27 at 1:30 p.m. & 5:00 p.m.
