CALGARY – Calgary Police have officially charged two people in connection with a grisly quadruple homicide earlier this summer.

Yu Chieh Liao, 24, who goes by Diana Liao, and Tewodros Kebede, 25, have both been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Hanock Afowerk. The 26 year old was found dead near Highway 22 and Highway 8 on July 12.

Afowerk was the registered owner of the burnt-out vehicle where Glynnis Fox, 36, Cody Pfeiffer, 25 and Tiffany Ear, 39, were found dead on July 10 in the Sage Hill neighbourhood. Liao and Kebede also face three counts each of accessory after the fact (murder) in connection with the three deaths.

The two are next scheduled to appear in court on November 2.

While charges have been laid, police say the investigation is ongoing and they believe additional people are involved.

Anyone who may have information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact the police non-emergency number at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
