MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Tigers have made several roster changes ahead of this weekend’s home games.

The team announcing Wednesday they have released Mick Kohler, who was selected in this year’s WHL Import Draft. Head coach and general manager Shaun Clouston says Kohler has cleared waivers.

The move leaves defencemen Linus Nassen and Kristians Rubins as import players on the team. League rules permit two import players on the roster.

As for Rubins, he has returned from his shoulder injury, and will make his regular season debut on Friday, when the Tigers host the Regina Pats at the Canalta Centre.

Goaltender Jordan Hollett also returns to the active roster after being sidelined with mononucleosis at the beginning of the season. Clouston expects he will get the start in net on Friday, while overage goaltender Michael Bullion will be a healthy scratch.

Bullion, along with Rubins, Mark Rassell and Zach Fischer, are the remaining overage players with the Tigers. The team has until Oct. 10 to bring the number down to three.

Friday’s game begins at 7:30 p.m.
