Train off the tracks near Antelope

WEBB, SK- A train has derailed near the Transcanada Highway in southwestern Saskatchewan.
 
A caller to CHAT News has indicated that the derailment was between Webb, Saskatchewan, and Antelope, just off the main road.
 
The size of the derailment, according to the caller, was 30-40 cars carrying potash. CP Rail has said that inital reports indicate 37 cars were involved in the derailment.
 
CHAT News has confirmed that police are on scene, dealing with the derailment.
 
Traffic maps in the area show a significant slowdown near the grain terminal close to Antelope.

CP Rail has provided a statement on the incident.

“At approximately 8:10 pm local time on October 3, a CP freight train carrying potash derailed approximately 40 km west of Swift Current, SK,” reads the statement.

“There are no injuries and no dangerous goods involved. CP immediately implemented its emergency response protocols and mobilized teams to the site. We take this incident extremely seriously, and will be focused on safety as we continue to deal with this incident. All required notifications have been made and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.”
