Airlines offering to re-book flights and vacations following Las Vegas shooting

MEDICINE HAT, AB — In the wake of the worst mass shooting in U.S. history in Las Vegas, airlines in Canada said they haven’t seen many people rescheduling their trips or flights at this point.

WestJet said they understand some passengers may want to change their travel plans and have implemented a flexible change or cancel policy for those travelling to Las Vegas between now and October 4th 2017.

“WestJet’s employees across our network are saddened and horrified by the terrible event that occurred in Las Vegas,” said the airline company in a statement. “Our thoughts are with those whose family and friends have been affected by this tragedy.”

Air Canada said all their flights to and from Las Vegas are operating normally today.

The airline company has also put a good will policy in place for the week for those who want to change or delay their travel plans without incurring a fee.

Big U.S. airlines are allowing also passengers to change their plans for flights to or from Las Vegas without facing penalties.

American Airlines, Delta Airlines and Alaska Airlines said Monday that they are offering waivers through Tuesday. A waiver from United Airlines lasts through Friday.
