Weather warning for Southern Alberta: snow & strong winds

MEDICINE HAT, AB. – Environment Canada has issued a weather warning for the city of Medicine Hat and surrounding areas with snow and strong northerly winds foretasted for later this weekend

Environment Canada said a cold front is expected to move through Alberta bringing a significant drop in temperatures and snow. The mountains and Swan Hills should expect snow Saturday night and Sunday, with snow spreading into southern and central Alberta by Monday morning. Precipitation will begin as rain with all regions changing to snow by Monday morning.

In addition to snow strong to severe northerly winds are forecast to develop tomorrow in central Alberta and spread southwards Sunday night.

In western Saskatchewan along the Alberta border, rain will change to snow Monday morning as strong to severe northerly winds develop. The highest snow accumulations are expected along the Cypress Hills.
