QUEBEC JUDGE HANDS NINE-YEAR PRISON SENTENCE TO ISIL SUPPORTER: A Quebec judge sentenced a man to nine years in prison for trying to leave Canada to join the Islamic State. Judge Serge Delisle ruled that the prison term was justified because of Ismael Habib’s strong loyalty to ISIL principles as well as the lack of evidence supporting his prospect for rehabilitation. The accused was ensnared by an RCMP-led sting operation, in which he admitted to an undercover agent posing as a crime boss that he wanted to travel to Syria to join the Islamic State.
