MEDICINE HAT, AB — South Eastern Alberta Search and Rescue (SEASAR) is receiving much needed funding from a local company.

The search and rescue organization received a $5,000 donation from South Country Co-op during a general meeting Thursday night.

According to a news release, the donation will be used to help SEASAR sustain its search and rescue services across the region.

“It isn’t unusual for people to think that we’re a paid service, or that the governments pays our bills. In fact, we’re 100 percent volunteer and almost all of our funding come from strong community partners like South Country Co-op,” said president Paul Carolan in a statement.
