MEDICINE HAT, AB — Medicine Hat police are asking for the public’s assistance after two more vehicles were stolen in the city this week.

According to a police release, a 2011 Ford F-350 Super Duty Lariat was stolen sometime between 6 p.m. on Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. The truck was stolen from the area of Hearne Crescent Northeast.

The truck is dark bronze, with a small dent on the truck bed edge on the driver’s side. The box has a cover and there are black rain guards on all of the windows.

Anyone who sees the vehicle is asked to call 911 with details on where the vehicle was observed. Police are encouraging the community to call in, but ask they do not attempt to follow a suspected stolen vehicle or confront the occupants of any vehicle that may be stolen.

Police also put out a second release Thursday morning for a second stolen truck. A 1991 Chevrolet Silverado 4×4 was stolen from the 2600 block of 21st Avenue SE Wednesday evening. The truck is white and grey, with red lining, and also contained a silver toolbox. The truck has an Alberta license plate “ZTT079.” Anyone with information is asked to call police at 403-529-8481.

This summer, police have been working to crack down on auto theft, with 115 vehicles reported stolen so far this year. Each week, police are posting the number of stolen vehicles from the previous week on their Facebook page, including the circumstances surrounding the thefts and if the vehicles were recovered. From Sept. 18-24, a moped, a truck and an enclosed trailer were stolen, with the truck being recovered and returned to its owner.

Owners are reminded to lock the doors, remove their keys and place all valuables out of sight to prevent theft.
