MEDICINE HAT, AB. –  Faced with a big hole in the budget due to declining energy dividends, the City of Medicine Hat is looking to sell naming rights, sponsorships and advertising on various recreation facilities in the city.

This includes leisure trails, ball diamonds, soccer pitches, tennis courts, playgrounds, even swimming pools, ice arenas and the Family Leisure Centre’s fieldhouse.

In a release, Todd Sharpe, General Manager of Parks and Recreation says ” Financially Fit includes identifying initiatives that will generate additional revenue for the City.  These advertising, sponsorship and naming rights opportunities are a great way for business and individuals in the community to associate themselves with a Parks and Recreation initiative.”

The city is taking Non-binding Expressions of Interest submissions until 2 pm on October 17th.
