MEDICINE HAT, AB. – The 2nd Annual Fall Market took place at the Ross Creek Business Center on Sunday September 24, 2017.

The market featured local businesses and gives them the opportunity to showcase their products said organizer Cali Vandewoestyne. They have a variety of sellers including apparel, crafts, baby accessories and baked goods, she described.

“It’s a place that they can have a store front if you have a home based businesses,” she explained.

Vansewostyne said that there are hundreds of local small businesses in Medicine Hat, and she was unaware before launching the pop up shop markets with co-organizer Bailey Matulin. Matulin said that they have a mixture of different vendors and direct sellers who participate in the market.

“People who make things, it’s a labor of love for them. They pour their heart into it and they want to do a really good job, it’s just excellent quality as that’s their lively hood, and they want people to keep coming back and expand their business,” she said.

This is the fourth market Matulin and Vanwostyne have organized in Medicine Hat. Vanwostyne said is different than a normal market.

“We wanted to create a place that was a little bit more intimate than a normal trade show,” she explained.

The next pop up market is the “Makers Market” on October 21, 2017 featuring businesses with products only made in Medicine Hat.
