RED DEER, AB – One final chance to make a lasting impression for some Medicine Hat Tigers on Saturday night, as they face the Red Deer Rebels in their final pre-season contest.

Through three exhibition games, the Tigers have posted a 2-1 record but are coming off a 6-2 loss from the Moose Jaw Warriors last weekend.

In that game, Medicine Hat allowed three goals in the third period with Kaeden Lane allowing five goals on 19 shots faced over 30 minutes of play.

It hasn’t been an easy week injury wise for the Tigers, with star forward Mason Shaw expected to miss between four and six months after tearing his ACL at Minnesota Wild rookie camp.

Goalie Jordan Hollett and defenceman Kristians Rubins are also out with injury and sickness, while Sportsnet 960’s Pat Steinberg is reporting Tigers forward Zach Fischer is listed as injured at Calgary Flames training camp.

It will be another rookie-laden lineup for Medicine Hat due to the mounting sick bay, along with a number of Tigers veterans participating in NHL training camps as well.

Opening faceoff between the Tigers and Rebels is scheduled for 7:00 pm at the Enmax Centrium in Red Deer.
