Mad Hatter & Happy Hatter – Sept 14

Mad Hatter
Played some hockey at the Moose last week. Was excited to play in that old barn again because it is the brightest one in town. Not anymore. Lights were half on, took a puck to the throat 10 minutes in. Pay the ice rental for full lights, how much money can you save by putting everyone at risk of injury? Maybe put the goal gear on and try to track a puck moving 90 MPH in the dark. Sad day at the rink.

Mad Hatter
Crescent Heights transit route on weekend is ridiculous.  Up Division to The Leisure Centre and down Division to downtown.  The route could have been up Parkview, down 20th to The Leisure Centre, up Division down McCutheon, up 12th then down Division going downtown.  Oh, wait, that would mean actually giving riders service!  Riders might be on longer but they would get service closer to their area.

Mad Hatter
Is there nothing that can be done about a neighbour with a motorcycle that must be breaking noise laws? No muffler, revving engine and speeding down street at 6:30am!! Its AWFUL! Tried to call non-emergency police number but they say if it isn’t happening now there is nothing they can do. As if a cop can fly over here at 6:30am and catch him before he has disappeared.

Mad Hatter
So not to trivialize the recent fatal crash in Crescent Heights but didn’t the whole episode start with a stolen vehicle? Why was that young man able to steal the vehicle in the first place? Keys left in it? Police are telling us all the time to not leave keys in vehicles or leave them running and to lock them up!! Here’s a good reason to listen to what they say! You never know who will steal or what they will take. Maybe this whole tragedy could have been avoided if that vehicle had been locked.

Mad Hatter
What is the deal with school buses and their stop sign? I thought any time they were stopped to unload or pick up kids they were meant to have their sign out? I have been in Medicine Hat for 2 years and have never once seen a school bus with their flashing lights on and their sign out! Am I still supposed to stop? Because no one else does!

Happy Hatter
RAIN!!!!!

Happy Hatter
Thank you to all emergency personnel in SE Alberta, including police, fire, EMT’s, and SE AB search and rescue, this has been a busy week for all of you and your service to our region is deeply appreciated!

Mad Hatter
People, when you are going on the highway by the over passes you MERGE onto the highway you don’t go 50 km onto an 80-zone highway!! The department of highways need to put a sign on the roads to let these clueless people know that, or there is going to be a major accident there!!

Happy Hatter
Happy about Med Hat Rib fest this past weekend! The ribs were phenomenal! Hope to see it back in the Hat next year!

 Mad Hatter
City needs to rethink the transit system. City could have shortened the routes with less stops instead of RIP it away from areas. We are a CITY!

Mad Hatter
So angry about the amount of bad drivers on the streets here in the Hat. Too fast, too slow, dangerous moves, blow through red lights and orange lights all the time, ignore stop signs, tailgate, weave in and out of traffic. It’s absolutely insane. Why is everyone is such a rush around here? This is MEDICINE HAT, people. It’s the middle of the bloody prairies and the town is fifteen minutes end to end. How many fatal car accidents do we need to have before people will learn to get their heads unstuck from where the sun don’t shine and learn to drive like civilized ADULTS?!
