MEDICINE HAT, AB – Another strong showing from the Crescent Heights High Vikings football team on Friday night, winning their third game of the season over a divisional rival.

Facing off against the Brooks Buffalos at the Methanex Bowl on Friday, the Vikings’ offence wasn’t able to generate much in the early goings with a scoreless game after the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Vikings kicker Danny Gardiner made a chip shot and added a rouge to put Crescent Heights up by a 4-0 count at the half.

Brooks finally were able to break through the Vikings defence in the third quarter, as they scored the first touchdown of the game just a few minutes into the half to go up 7-4.

On the next Crescent Heights drive however, slotback Kaden Wagner found a seam and rumbled for a 50-yard gain, which led to a quarterback sneak by Conner Neufeld to give the Vikings back the lead 10-4 after a missed extra point.

Crescent Heights added two more touchdowns in the second half thanks to another stellar performance from running back Creed Willette, as the Vikings improved to 3-0 with a 23-7 win over Brooks.

Neufeld only threw seven passes on Friday, but was 5-7 with 36 yards passing and one interception.

Meanwhile, it was a 209-yard day on the ground for Willette with a pair of touchdowns and averaged 9.5 yards per carry.

Looking to continue their undefeated streak to start the season, the Vikings are on the road next weekend in Airdrie against W.H. Croxford High.
