MEDICINE HAT, AB — Tigers head coach & GM Shaun Clouston is putting together a roster nearly completely made up of rookies and prospects for their first preseason game in Lethbridge on Friday.

Only a small handful of permanent roster spots are up for grabs — each youngster knows that.

Most of the coaching staff’s focus will be placed on the Tigers blue line. Seven rookie defenceman remain with the team and are sure to receive their fair share of playing time this weekend.

For 17-year-old Trevor Longo, who’s trying out for the team for the second year, he’s excited for the chance to potentially be named a full-time blue-liner this season.

But he knows he needs to play smart hockey while showcasing Clouston’s expected level of work ethic this weekend.

CHAT TV spoke with the North Vancouver-product, along with Clouston, to get their thoughts as the team prepares for it’s first of four exhibition tilts.
