“I think we can achieve great things this year”; Gally’s thoughts entering 2017-18 season

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Many times last season, Tigers head coach and GM Shaun Clouston commended his team for going above and beyond expectations.

Not many expected a 50-win season, nor a Central Division banner complete with arguably the deepest forward unit in the entire WHL. The Tigers were second to only the Regina Pats in goals scored, boasting five 30-goal scorers.

It leaves many wondering what the players expect of themselves as a new campaign looms.

Defenceman Dalton Gally firmly believes this year’s squad has what it takes to not only win another 50 games, but go further than Game 7 of the second round of the playoffs.

“It’s a big season for a lot of players,” said the 6’5″ Texan, who’s entering his second season in the WHL. “I think we can achieve great things this year. We have a great group of guys, great leadership group, so I think we’re finally ready to go.”

CHAT TV caught up with the burly defenceman to get his thoughts on training camp, and what kind of message he sends to rookies and youngsters looking to crack the opening night roster.
