RALSTON, AB – The spirit of the Invictus Games was present in southeast Alberta on Monday.

Representatives from the 2017 games, which runs Sept. 23-30 in Toronto, made a stop at CFB Suffield Monday morning on the national flag tour. The tour, which began earlier this month in Vancouver, sees flag bearers visiting 22 military bases, 15 legions and more than 50 communities leading up to the opening ceremonies.

The Invictus Games, created in 2014 by Prince Harry, sees wounded and injured armed services personnel and veterans take part in sports, including archery, wheelchair basketball and indoor rowing.

CHAT News Today was at the event Monday morning, and spoke to Sgt. Fraser White and Warrant Officer Simon Naylor about what the Invictus Games means to them, and the power sports have to heal.
