MEDICINE HAT, AB — Two men, one from Medicine Hat, were arrested and charged over the weekend in connection with a series of crimes across southern Alberta.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, the Medicine Hat Police Service located a black BMW convertible that was reported stolen in Calgary in the 600 block of Sixth Street SW. Police had been searching for the vehicle earlier in the day, after receiving reports the car refused to pull over for Brooks RCMP following an alleged assault, and also was involved in a gas theft in Medicine Hat.

The driver and the passenger of the vehicle were located and arrested. A search of the vehicle revealed stolen identifications, stolen electronics, methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana and bear spray. Police believe most of the stolen items are from the Calgary area. The investigation is ongoing.

Benjamin Schneider of Medicine Hat and David Paul Dyck of Calgary were both arrested and charged with numerous offences, including possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of a weapon, possession of break in-instruments, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of stolen property under $5,000.
