MEDICINE HAT, AB — After several delays, the Kinsmen Home Lotto is now underway, with hundreds of people touring the brand new home.

Residents who enter the lottery will have a chance to win a home built by Bravada Homes valued at $500,000.

The home opened for viewing on Friday, and is open on weekends from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m., and weekdays from 3-9 p.m.

The home is located at 59 Sierra Road SW.

Tickets for the raffles are $100 each, three for $250 or eight for $500. Joey Merriman, Kinsmen member said the money raised from the lottery helps support the Kinsmen Club of Medicine Hat’s community programs.

“We sell up to about 8000 tickets, on that or we try to, we have never quite sold out. Ideally, we are hoping that it is something we can raise close to a hundred thousand dollars” he said.

There were a few delays in having the home completed, it opened to the public later than expected by the Kinsmen Club, pushing back the draw date for the home.

“A lot of people do wait until the house is open to come in, see the house and buy their ticket, so that meant that we had a shortfall when June and July were coming around and our official draw date was planned so we did an application for an extension.” he explained.

The cutoff for sales is September 10, and the draw takes place September 15.

Tickets can be purchased at the home during viewing hours, or in person at Richardson’s Jewelry, Sobey’s Budget Blinds, and both Co-op Grocery stores. Tickets can also be purchased by phoning 403-528-6230, or online here http://mhkinsmen.ca/home-lotto.
