MEDICINE HAT, AB — There are playoff beards, and then there’s whatever the heck is growing on Jared Libke’s face.

More specifically, his neck.

Playoff baseball can bring out the gnarliest of facial hair accessories. The Mavericks ace has taken it to a whole new level.

He calls it a playoff ‘neard’ — a word which has yet to be included in any official dictionary.

Urban Dictionary describes a neard as “a growth of facial hair which is intentionally concentrated BELOW the neckline”. Accurate when pinned against Libke’s portrait.
