Leader woman listed as missing denies being missing

A woman sought by the RCMP appears to disagree with police who say she is missing.

In a notice issued on Thursday afternoon, the RCMP detachment in Leader, Sask, stated that 22 year old Chelsea Katherine Linden had been reported missing by her family in the city.

According to the notice, Linden hadn’t been in contact with her family since last Friday, and concern was raised about her well-being.

Anyone with knowledge of her whereabouts was asked to get in touch with their local police or the Leader RCMP, and she was said to likely be in the Medicine Hat or Lethbridge areas.

However, Linden herself appeared to publicly disagree with the police view of the situation.

In the comment section of the CHAT News Facebook page, a Facebook account that appeared to belong to Linden made several comments on the post containing the missing-persons notice, saying quote ““I’m not missing, lol”.

Additional comments made by Linden appeared to indicate a family disagreement. A second Facebook profile, listed as belonging to a Fritz Travis, also made comments, stating that Linden was safe, and the family in Leader was “not her family”.

When reached for comment, the Saskatchewan RCMP stated that Linden is still considered missing. They declined to discuss any other details of the case, citing an ongoing investigation.
