MEDICINE HAT, AB — A member of the Craven family has been signed by the Medicine Hat Tigers.

The Tigers announced Monday the signing of 17 year-old defenceman Joel Craven to a standard WHL player agreement. Joel is the son of former Tiger Murray Craven, who played from 1980-1984, and currently serves as the senior vice president for the Vegas Golden Knights.

“We are pleased to welcome Joel and his family to the Tigers organization,” said Tigers head coach and general manager Shaun Clouston in a news release. “We look forward to working with Joel as he progresses to the WHL.”

“We think Joel’s development as a solid two way defenceman is coming along as we expected and we are thrilled that he and his family have decided to join our hockey club,” stated Darren Kruger, senior director of player development.
