Knights win Wednesday night double header

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Knights were victorious in both games of their double header Wednesday night.

Hosting the Great Falls Chargers At Jefferies Field, the Knights were victorious in game one 12-0, and held on for a 13-8 victory in the second game.

Ashton Street was the winning pitcher in the first game, allowing only five hits through five innings, and striking out four batters. Ethan Bartram kept the bats hot for the Knights, notching four RBIs.

In the second game, the Knights were involved in a back and forth affair with the Chargers. After being tied 6-6 in the fifth inning, Zack Stark started the comeback, driving in two runs. The Knights continued their momentum in the sixth inning, with  Justin Bourassa, Joel Herron, Keon Vereschagin and Easton Brooks all scoring runs.

Slump continues for Monarchs.

The Medicine Hat Moose Monarchs dropped both games to the Helena Senators in Montana on Wednesday.

The Monarchs were shut out 10 -0 in the first game, and downed 12-1 in the second game.

Cole Scheiber scored off a Devon Schneider RBI in the second game for the team’s lone run.

The Monarchs have now lost nine of their last 10 games.
