Last season, Kohler split time with Kolner EC U19 (a junior team in Germany) and Dresdner Eislowen (DEL Division 2 professional hockey). Kohler has represented Germany on the international stage during the World U18 Championships – Division 1A in 2015 and 2016.

In the second round, defenceman Linus Nassen from Sweden was selected by the Tigers. Nassen, who was drafted by the Florida Panthers last year, split his last season with Lulea HF J20 in the SuperElit League and with Lulea HF of the SHL, the top pro league in Sweden. In 25 games with the junior team, he recorded 16 points, and he recorded two points in 21 games with the pro team.

With Latvian defenceman Kristian Rubins set to rejoin the team in the fall, there will be three imports on the roster, meaning one player will not be joining the team for the long haul during the season.
