MEDICINE HAT, AB — South Country Co-op is presenting $25,500 cheque to the Redcliff Scout and Guide Association.

The money will help the association upgrade the kitchen in its building, as well as replace old furnaces, countertops, drawers and doors.

The completed renovations are expected to better accommodate the groups who use the space, as well as the rest of the community who use the facility.

The funds have been made available through Co-Op Community Spaces program for Canada’s 150th birthday.

In total, 27 groups from across western Canada received a combined $2 million dollars through the program this year.

The Society of Grasslands Naturalists also received $150,000 towards renovations for the Police Point Park Interpretive Centre on June 15th.
