EDMONTON — A member of the Canadian Armed Forces in Alberta is facing child pornography and child luring charges.

Steven Massey, 32, has been charged with child luring, making child pornography and distributing child pornography following a three month investigation by the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team’s Internet Child Exploitation unit and the Department of Homeland Security. Military police and Alberta Sheriffs assisted with the investigation.

Massey, who is based in Wainwright, was arrested in Edmonton on Wednesday. His military residence was searched and a number of computers and electronic devices were seized.

The investigation began in March following a Homeland Security investigation in Laredo, Texas. Massey is alleged to have attempted to meet with a Texas girl for sex.
